The Global X Copper Miners ETF seeks to provide investment results that correspond generally to the price and yield performance, before fees and expenses, of the Solactive Global Copper Miners Total Return Index (JPY converted).

Key Characteristics of Copper Miners
In general, copper mining is an industry with a high proportion of fixed costs, including mining facilities and labor expenses, making it particularly susceptible to operating leverage. Therefore, when copper prices rise and revenues increase, profits are expected to grow at an even faster pace.
Against this backdrop, securities related to copper mining companies tend to exhibit amplified price movements relative to changes in copper prices. On the other hand, during periods of declining copper prices, profits and share prices may also experience larger declines, and investors should therefore exercise caution.
The Operating Leverage
Companies with a high proportion of fixed costs, such as capital expenditures and labor costs, tend to incur relatively limited additional costs as production volumes increase. As a result, their profits often grow at a faster rate than sales. This characteristic, whereby profits fluctuate more significantly than sales, is referred to as “operating leverage”.
